Man, I loved the 80s. I had a pair of hot pink cropped jeans that made me feel like a rock star. I sure wish I would of had money all those years ago to get the film from my camera developed. There isn’t much photographic evidence of those pants.
Don’t we all remember something that we wore that just made us feel great? It could be your wedding dress or a favorite pair of jean shorts. I have been cleaning my closet and doing a little modified Marie Kondo. I ask myself, on a scale of my 8th grade gym suit to my hot pink pants, how does this make me feel when I wear it? (If you didn’t have the pleasure of wearing a gym suit, you really missed out and I have posted a picture of this beauty on my blog.) This process has had me reminiscing about when I wore certain things and where I went in them. It makes me think of good times I have had with friends and family. I have tossed some things that didn’t make me feel great and kept things that fit RIGHT NOW and make me feel good. Yes, my closet will become unorganized and full again, but I hope to fill it with things that make me feel like the young-at-heart bad ass that I am.
STYLE TIP: If you don’t get excited about putting it on, throw it out. Life is short.
